Do you ever wonder about you faith? Do you question whether you are walking in faith? I think it is common for us all to have doubts on occasion, yet, when we focus on our doubts we stop walking in faith.
This site is devoted to helping Christians to walk in faith all the way to Heaven.
There are many stories in the Bible of people of faith who struggled to learn or to be faithful to God.
One of my favorites is found in Matthew 8 where the disciples were in a boat, in the middle of the sea of Galilee. It would seem to be a safe place especially when Jesus was with them.
When a storm threatens to overturn the boat, you would think that the disciples, after spending so much time with Jesus, would have a little more faith and less doubt. But in reality when the storm hit they feared for their lives and cried out to Jesus “Lord save us, we are about to drown”.
Jesus’ response, “you of little faith, why are you so afraid” sounds like a condemnation, and it is, but it is also a statement that should remind us that even the disciples who walked with Jesus had doubts. At that moment they were focusing on their doubt and not their faith.
Real Faith Trusts God Despite the Circumstances
We will live through many different circumstances in life, some of them will bring doubt. But those who walk faithfully with God no matter what the circumstance will find their way through faith.
It is my hope that this blog called walking hope will be a help to all who seek to walk in hope with God.
So this Site – Walkinghope.com is dedicated to teaching others how to walk in faith – real faith – it is possible – others have done it – so can we.
What is Real Faith – Hebrews Chapter 11 gives us a simple answer- “Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see”.
To walk in faith is to walk with the confidence that what we hope for will really happen! When doubts come our way our faith in God’s promises wane. Our confidence in God weakens.
Doubts will come, but it is up to us whether we entertain those doubts or dismiss them.
The disciples doubted when they saw the great waves that almost capsized their boat. They lost confidence, their faith waned, and they ran to Jesus.
Act on Your Faith not Your Doubts
Next time you start questioning your faith choose to act on your faith not your doubts.
Trust that the confidence you had in the beginning to follow Jesus can be had by simply trusting Jesus anyway despite the circumstances.
My goal for this site is simple – share what I have learned and continue to learn so that others can walk in hope – walk in faith.
Walking in faith is a journey, sometimes we stumble, but always we get up and move forward. If you have any questions or comments about this post feel free to email me at ray@walkinghope.com or comment on any of the posts on this website. And I will get back with you as soon as possible.
May God bless your journey with Christ and may you keep walking in hope all the way to heaven.
Hi Ray,
I am so happy to come across your website that is focused on building a strong foundation with the family through Christ. I used to go to church with my grandmother when I was little and moved away from the church from high school through adult. Now that I have my own family and two kids, I have been thinking about getting back on track with my faith. The world is a scary place and we really need him. My kids need him. Please continue doing what you do.
